Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Counterweight ("we", "our", or "us") is a physics-based puzzle game developed by Flash Dev. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you download and play Counterweight on your Android device.

By using Counterweight, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app and discontinue use.

2. Data We Collect

Counterweight itself does not collect personally identifiable information. The data collected comes from third-party SDKs we integrate for crash reporting, analytics, and advertising:

Device & App Information

Device model, OS version, app version, installation ID, and locale — collected by Firebase for crash diagnostics.

Crash & Performance Data

Stack traces, ANR reports, and performance metrics — collected by Firebase Crashlytics to detect and fix bugs.

Usage Analytics

In-app events (e.g., level started, level completed, session duration) — collected by Firebase Analytics to understand how players engage with the game.

Advertising Identifiers

Google Advertising ID (GAID) — used by Google AdMob to serve relevant ads. You can reset or opt out of personalized ads in your device Settings → Google → Ads.

IP Address

Collected incidentally when the device contacts Google servers for analytics, crash reporting, or ad serving. Not stored by us directly.

3. How We Use Data

We do not sell your data to third parties, and we do not use it for purposes beyond those listed above.

4. Third-Party Services

5. Advertising

Counterweight is free to play and is supported by advertising through Google AdMob. Ads may be personalized based on your Advertising ID and your previous interactions with Google's advertising network.

To opt out of personalized ads, open your device Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization. You will still see ads, but they will not be tailored to your interests.

We do not control the content of ads served by AdMob. If you encounter an inappropriate ad, please use the "Why this ad?" or "Report this ad" option provided by Google within the ad unit.

6. Children's Privacy

Counterweight is rated for players aged 3 and above (Everyone on Google Play). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Advertising shown in Counterweight is subject to Google's Families Policy. If you believe your child has provided personal information through this app, please contact us at the email below so we can delete it.

7. Data Retention

We retain Firebase Analytics data for up to 14 months (Google's default retention window). Crashlytics reports are retained for 90 days. Advertising identifiers are managed and retained by Google AdMob per their data retention policies.

Progress data (completed levels, scores, settings) is stored exclusively on your device in local storage (SharedPreferences) and is deleted when you uninstall the app or use the "Reset Progress" option in Settings.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at flashdev95@gmail.com. For data held directly by Google (Analytics, Crashlytics, AdMob), please refer to Google's Data & Privacy dashboard.

9. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures and rely on Google's secure infrastructure for all third-party data processing. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Local game progress is stored on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

10. Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
